Task B

a)    Write a brief biography of one successful entrepreneur of your choice in your own words. Then, explain how he or she demonstrates ANY FIVE (5) entrepreneurial traits that highlighted in the QUESTION (A) and how this assists them to be successful in their venture.

One of the best examples of entrepreneur that are having the 5 traits out of 9 that listed in task A is Dato’ Aliff Syukri. He is the founder and CEO of the products named D’Herbs. He is a person who came from Pahang, Malaysia and only graduated as an SPM student. Before he started his entrepreneurial journey, he had no money to start the business and start it with selling it to friends in the office and after that selling the products in pasar tani to earn the money for his entrepreneurial venture in his life. As graduated SPM student with bad results, many people told him or scolded him that he won’t be a successful entrepreneur in his life and told him to accept the truth that he can’t be an entrepreneur (Admin, 2014). The traits that he is having is an open risk taker, observant, visionary, failure is an option and proactive. 

Open Risk Taker

    The open risk taker is one of the traits that can be described by Dato’ Aliff Syukri. In this trait, we can show that he can try many ways to start his entrepreneurial venture. Before he starts his business, he had been told that he won’t be an entrepreneur in his life as he just a graduated SPM student. So, after he listened to it, he had promised to himself that he want to be a well-known entrepreneur. Even though he had no money to start his business, he still wants to take a risk by selling the products to his friends in the office without thinking any negatives. After that, he also bravely to open a stall in pasar tani for earning the money to start his business journey. Even though the income is very less from the farmer market, but he still willing to continue in this journey and ambitioned to be higher to make his brand become well-known in future. So, he tries to find more sources to move further onwards. Through this trait, we can see that Dato’ Aliff Syukri is so passion to his brands that make it become popular like now.

Observant
    In this trait, Dato’ Aliff Syukri showed the best example in his entrepreneurial venture. Observant can be described as good at noticing what is going on around you (Merriam-Webster, 2016). When he want to start his business that named as D’Herbs, he had observed the situation before he want to start the business. After he observed, he did the decision and how to earn the money to start his journey about the products by selling it to his friends first. After that, he promised to himself that he can’t be shy when selling the products to the customers by observing the salesman selling their products to the others. He had mentioned that who is shy and don’t dare to sell the products to the others, they’ll have a big lose in their future. So, he told himself that bravely to face the customers although the command is negative. Through this story, can show that Dato’ Aliff Syukri is a person that have the characteristic of observant when he is on his entrepreneurial venture that make him become a successful entrepreneur in nowadays.

Proactive
 Dato Aliff Syukri is a young and amazing entrepreneur. He sells cosmetic product by the name ‘D Herbs’ with the tagline ‘Terlajak Laris’. Why we said he is a proactive person? That answer is he never stop his creativity in his life. Dato 'Aliff Syukri graduated at SPM level only and from a poor family. But he was very active in creating a health and beauty products to the community. He starts a business just hundreds of ringgit and he never gave up. He sold the product to a colleague, and open a stall in the market and finally create a business with large size. He also had the courage and do not feel shy when promoting health and beauty products to customers. He has that energy and active spirit where with the spirit, he became famous by selling his products.

Failure is an option
                 At the start of business, Dato' Aliff Syukri had a problem does not have a lot of capital to start a business. Bank deposits Dato Aliff Syukri only have hundreds only. With strong determination, he is still trying to create a good business. At the first, he sells beauty products to colleagues in the office. He also opened a stall at the market every week. Other than that, he profited from the start RM500 to RM600. Increasingly, beauty products managed to get the attention of people and make a profit of RM2000 to RM3000 for two months. Furthermore, troubles were even stopped to find him. Loans from banks are not successful, although he tried to make the paperwork get a loan as capital for business expansion. However, the bank says he is still raw, do not have the assets to get the loan. He also gets the advice of the relative who said he only attended school at SPM level and does not go to university will not succeed in business. But , luckily he gets support capital from his friends to enlarge the business. With the loan from friend and profits derived from the business on the market for 2 years. His success get capital at least RM100,0000. He became a millionaire.

Visionary

 D’Herbs is a company sell health and beauty product with the high quality to customers. Their services are effective and also in a good management in business. Their company mission is to assist women and men who suffer from health problems both internal and external to appear more confident and stylish. This can show that Dato' Aliff Syukri has a visionary in his entrepreneur life. In this trait, he had observed and did the survey in this society to have more knowledge about the society. After that, he had decided to start the business about the products that can assist people with the health problems. Within starting the journey, he had faced many problems but he had taken the action to solve the problem. With this, can be shown that he had visionary towards his brand and want to make it become a well-known products in future.
